Some may well argue it would be pointless talking about the inescapable. But it would be even worse if we really do not. At the really least ideas could be floated all around which may –just may– prod these in authority to consider the right direction. Of system, I am talking about Metro Cebu’s worsening site visitors congestion. Notably in Cebu Town considering that it is exactly where it generally starts and propagates to the relaxation. And it is starting now.
Let’s just pound in the truth that site visitors congestion is not a one-time problem that you solve and voila! It disappears forever. Rather, it is a never-ending saga. As the population grows, automobile ownership grows, and no matter what highway area we get ready will quicker or later be stuffed up. Unless of course we truly change to community mass transportation, we’d constantly cyclically play this cat-and-mouse sport of getting-autos-creating-road space syndrome. Until we run out of area.
Cebu City’s particular issue is that it is the heart of the metropolis. Jointly with CCLEX, the two also served as the major quick lane to Mactan Island and back, again until finally intersections ended up inserted. And the key link to watch is F. Vestil Road. Wait around till the growth on the other facet of the road is finished –which is a monstrous gridlock waiting around to take place.
